How To update a Container /etc/hosts file

Summary

This KB describes how to update the /etc/hosts files for containers.

Procedure

Dnsmasq can be configured to use DNS, which this procedure should not be needed. These steps are needed for when the Zenoss hosts are not using DNS or the device does not exist in DNS.

To update the /etc/hosts file for containers:

1. Update the/etc/hosts file on the server.
2. Restart the Dnsmasq service with 'systemctl restart dnsmasq'

Note: This does not cause an outage.
