Known Issue: ZPS-1614 - vSphere ZenPack creates duplicate components, causes slow ZODB performance

Affects: Users running vSphere ZenPack versions 3.6.0 - 3.6.2.

vSphere ZenPack version 3.6.0, 3.6.1, and 3.6.2 contained a defect wherein duplicate components would be created during modeling. This can cause ZODB performance to degrade over time with or without Service Impact installed.

To fix this issue, customers are advised to upgrade the vSphere ZenPack to 3.6.3 or higher, wait 6-12 hours for modeling to complete (and the duplicate components to be removed) and then run an impact graph update using the following procedure if Service Impact is installed:

  1. From the serviced master, attach to the zenimpactstate container:

    serviced service attach zenimpactstate

  2. Switch to the zenoss user:

    su - zenoss

  3. Run a graph update:

    zenimpactgraph run --update
